Laser-based Medical Systems Development with ITL Group

As we continue to expand our capabilities, we welcome the expertise of our parent company, Gooch & Housego (G&H), a global-leader in the design and manufacture of laser-based photonics.

Following the acquisition of ITL by G&H earlier this year, an opportunity has opened up for us both to provide our customers, old and new, with a much broader portfolio of services to choose from.

As a full-service systems developer, ITL brings over 40 years of experience to the table which enables the rapid design and manufacture of complex custom solutions for medical, diagnostic and analytical systems.

G&H has over 70 years’ experience in advanced photonics modules and components for applications in the medical, aerospace, defence and industrial markets.

By combining the strengths of both organisations, we are now able to provide a complete systems development package to our customers including advanced photonics modules.

With G&H’s knowledge of laser technology, optics and photonics, combined with our expertise in the full development of medical, diagnostic and analytical systems, it enables us to provide customers outsourced systems design and manufacture for companies operating in the laser system medical market.

ITL and G&H can now support and interact with customers in the following fields:

  • Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopy (SLO)
  • Laser surgery
  • Laser-based cosmetic surgery

Other applications include the use of lasers in IVD instruments and in a breadth of analytical systems like flow cytometry and DNA gene sequencing.
